Creating a permanent home for the Arts in Sharon Springs, NY

Klinkhart Hall Arts Center, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization that seeks to preserve the historic Klinkhart Hall building in Sharon Springs, New York and to establish it as an arts center for the regional and local communities.

“The preservation and rehabilitation of the historic Klinkhart Hall building as the physical home for the already thriving KHAC arts and cultural programming will directly contribute to the growing vibrancy and economic activity of the village historic district. It will add a cultural hub to the village, provide a much needed and long absent arts venue, improve the streetscape of the historic district, directly support other revitalization efforts, and it will further enhance the appeal of the village as a tourist destination. Currently, there is no similar facility in this under-served and economically disadvantaged area.”

Klinkhart Hall has played a part in the life of Sharon Springs for well over a century, first as a hardware store and opera house, then as a Masonic Hall and a movie theater. And, always, as a place where the community gathered. Soon, it will be that again.
