Cinema Sunday at Schoharie Crossing
Fort Hunter, NY – Schoharie Crossing will host the first Cinema Sunday program of the year inside the Enders House on Schoharie Street in Fort Hunter, April 28th at 2pm. This free matinee screening of a classic 1935 film starring Henry Fonda will be accompanied by a few historical commentaries by site staff.
This classic film is set along the Erie Canal. Starting a local favorite, Henry Fonda, this schmaltzy story of love along the Canal features brawls, a NY county fair, and a tale about a farmer who wants to settle down along the waterway. The film also stars Janet Gaynor, Margaret Hamilton, and Charles Bickford. The script was based on the Walter D. Edmonds work, “Rome Haul.”
The program is free and open to the public. There will be popcorn and soda available.
