The Insolent Willies to Perform at Schoharie Crossing

The Insolent Willies will perform at Schoharie Crossing State Historic Site during the 2024 ROCK the LOCK music series on Saturday, August 17th.

Fort Hunter, NY – Local musician Mike Gowans will open the show at 1:00pm near the Visitor Center, 129 Schoharie Street in Fort Hunter.  This is a free community music program.

Mike Gowans is a bluesy creative acoustic singer-songwriter from Johnstown NY. He’s been making music and delighting audiences in the local scene for over 20 years with his heartfelt lyrics and soulful voice that will move you.

The Insolent Willies are an upstate New York-based acoustic roots-rock band known for their hip-shaking mix of quirky, clever original music and unpredictable covers. The band’s current lineup includes Bill Ackerbauer on guitar, harmonica, and fiddle; Frank DeVer Pullen on the bass, mandolin, and banjo; Paul Gavry playing the accordion and fiddle.

Twice nominated for Capital Region “Eddie” Awards as Country/Bluegrass Band of the Year, The Insolent Willies perform around upstate New York from the Catskills to the Adirondacks and occasionally in Vermont and Western Massachusetts.

ROCK the LOCK is a series of music will occur in August outside the Visitor Center and feature local as well as regional acts. Be sure to also join in the fun, August 24th as the site hosts co-headlining Greg Bucking Band playing with Becca Frame and the Tall Boys; then on August 31st, Jon Wager will open for SIRSY!

These events are supported by the Friends of Schoharie Crossing, WEXT Radio, Alpin Haus, and Karen’s Produce and Ice Cream. Saratoga Arts made this program possible through the Community Arts Regrant Program, funded by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.

The Schoharie Crossing Visitor Center is located at 129 Schoharie Street in Fort Hunter, Montgomery County.

These are free events open to the public.  Bring a lawn chair and dress for the weather.
