BRYNN SHEPARDSON ADDED TO MUSEUM NYS CHAMPIONSHIP ATHLETIC HONOR ROLL

There is a multi-faceted history of Little Falls athletics exhibit at the Little Falls Historical Society’s Old Bank Building Museum. Part of this exhibit honors New York State high school champions from Little Falls.

From 1930 through 2023, only five New York State championships were awarded to Little Falls athletes or athletic teams. Five became six in 2024 when Little Falls athlete Brynn Shepardson captured the NYS 152-lb girls wrestling championship.

The first Little Falls NYS championship was won by the 1929-30 Wilbur Chrisp-coached basketball team, the Ted Schoff-coached 1982 boys baseball team captured the Class B championship on their home field at Vets Park. In 1997 Tess Malone won the NYS Class C-D 400-meters girls track and field championship, in 2000, Brent Wehrum and German exchange student Florian Andreas won the boys NYS All Class doubles tennis championship, and in 2001, Brian Mosher captured the boys 200-meters Class C-D championship.

Brynn Shepardson, her sister and parents, members of their extended family and her wrestling coach were present for a recent special ceremony at the Old Bank Building Museum as Brynn’s name and picture were added to the pantheon of Little Falls most decorated high school athletes and teams. Five became six.
