42nd Annual Strawberry Festival and 2nd Annual Treasures in the Trunk Sale

The Mayfield Historical Society will be kicking off the summer season with a New York Path Thru History event –  its 42nd Annual Strawberry Festival and 2nd Annual Treasures in the Trunk sale on Saturday, June 14th, from 12 to 4 pm at The Rice Homestead, 328 Riceville Road in Mayfield, NY.   This event also is the opening of their new summer exhibit – “Echoes of Yesterday – The Clothing Collection of the Mayfield Historical Society.”  This special exhibit will be throughout the house and features items from the 1700s through the 1950s.

Live music and free admission

Live music will be provided by Aaron Mittler. Admission is free. Strawberry shortcake with ice cream and lemonade will be available for a cash donation of $5/$3 for children 8 and under. The Treasures in the Trunk sale allows people to sell their new, used or antique treasures in a 12′ x 12′ spot at a cost of $15. More than one spot may be purchased.

Free tours of the Rice Homestead will be given and the Loom Room, Mill Stone Garden, Heritage Flower Garden, and Oliver’s Trail will be open for viewing and strolling. In the event of rain, the event will take place at the Mayfield Presbyterian Church, 22 N. Main St. in Mayfield and the Treasurers in the Trunk will be canceled.

The Rice Homestead will be open throughout the summer on Wednesdays and Saturdays from noon to 4 pm until Labor Day and by appointment by calling 518-857-2820 or 518-332-0538.
