In Selecting Shades.
It seems as if every sort of a shop should have a room lighted by gas or electric light, such as dry goods houses have for trying their evening dress goods. Be very careful in choosing wall paper, carpets, hangings, etc., especially greens and blues, to see how they look at night, when you do most of your entertaining in the evening. Many shades change quality in the evening. One shade of green looks olive and a certain shade of the now much used delft blue turns purple, and nothing goes with them, and they look very ugly.
