Mayfield Historical Society Announces October and December Events

The Mayfield Historical Society has two events coming up with a presentation in October and an Open House in December

Join Mayfield Historian Eric Close as he discusses connections between Johnstown’s famous Loyalist, Sir William Johnson, and those responsible for settling in the Mayfield area.

The presentation, Mayfield Historical Society Presentation: Sir William Johnson and the Founders of Mayfield will be held on Monday, October 20th, at 6:30 p.m. at the Mayfield Central Presbyterian Church, 22 N. Main St., Mayfield.  Enjoy free admission and strawberries and ice cream will be served free of charge. For more information, call 518-332-0538.

On December 6th, The Mayfield Historical Society celebrates the season with their 34th Annual Christmas Open House

The Mayfield Historical Society’s 34th Annual Christmas Open House at The Rice Homestead will be on Saturday, December 6th, from 12 – 4 p.m. Musical entertainment will be in the Victorian Parlor. Rooms will be decorated in the holiday spirit of yesteryear with fireplaces ablaze. Homemade cookies and hot mulled cider will be served free of charge.  The very popular Homemade Pie Sale will be in the dining room. This event is free and open to the public.
