Local History Series to feature Jeremy Katz, Hamilton College Archivist
On Thursday, July 25 at 5 pm the Town of Webb Historical Association’s popular Local History Series will feature Jeremy Katz with a presentation titled, Preserving Family Heirlooms.
The presentation will be held at the Old Forge Library, 220 Crosby Blvd.
The presentation will include methods and best practices for preserving meaningful documents, photographs, scrapbooks, newspapers, artifacts, textiles, and digital materials.
Katz, Hamilton College’s Archivist, holds a B.A. degree in History from Ohio State University, a M.A. in Public History from Wright State University, and a certification from the Academy of Certified Archivists. Prior to joining the Special Collections and College Archives staff at Hamilton College in October 2021, he served as Senior Director of Archives at the William Breman Jewish Heritage Museum in Atlanta, Georgia, where he worked to grow, preserve, and democratize access to archival collections.
Every Thursday the Local History Series features a different speaker presenting a local history subject. The public is invited to come and enjoy the talks, ask questions, and share related information. The series is free and open to the public.
