COOPERSTOWN, NY — Learn about the world of tractors and everything they powered on New York State farms at The Farmers’ Museum’s annual Tractor Fest, taking place on Saturday and Sunday, October 12-13, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  See classic tractors, small engines, and other machinery, illustrating the growth of farming technology.

Over 60 classic tractors will line up for this year’s event

Antique Tractors and More at The Farmers’ Museum’s Tractor FestOver 60 classic tractors will line up for this year’s event representing several manufacturers including Farmall, Ford, Case, Oliver, Moline, and John Deere. Several local tractor clubs including the Franklin Doodlebug Club will take part in this year’s event. On Sunday, see tractors parade throughout the museum grounds. On both days, see fields plowed, oats thrashed, and oat straw baled using a 1904 Ohio Cultivator Company Hay-Press. Watch demonstrations of a corn cutter and check out a display of large and small hit-and-miss engines.

Tractor Fest is a great weekend destination for families with many activities for children planned.

Take a wagon ride around the museum grounds–pulled by a tractor. On Saturday, sign up the younger kids for a Kiddie Pedal-Tractor Pull starting at 2:00pm(register between 1:00-2:00pm). There will be face painting, games, and the Empire State Carousel on both days. Antique Tractors and More at The Farmers’ Museum’s Tractor FestDuring the event, life in 1845 continues throughout the museum’s country village and farmstead. Watch expert craftspeople in the Blacksmith Shop, pharmacy, and the other historic buildings. In the Main Barn, see The Buzz About Pollinators, an interactive exhibit all about bees and the many other insects and organisms like them that help make farming possible.

League of Women Voters of the Cooperstown Area will also be on site

The League of Women Voters of the Cooperstown Area will also be on site each day from 10am-4pm to help you register to vote and decide whether you want to vote early, in person, by mail, or on Election Day. Test your knowledge with our civics game and give little kids a chance to vote for their favorite fruit.
