Famous 19th-century English author Charles Dickens made two trips to America.
Noteworthy for Oneida County’s history, Dickens made an unscheduled 18-hour layover in Utica March 17-18, 1868, en route to performances in Albany. His unexpected presence at Bagg’s Hotel caused a stir among the locals.
That is the topic of this Oneida County History Center documentary created by Dennis Dewey. Join us for the movie premier that shares this exciting story.
